Antique-Tractor Engine & Craft Show

On April 18, 1988, twenty-seven men and women came together in a small log cabin to listen to Larry Matthew’s dream of beginning an engine show in Walloon Lake. Without much persuasion, everyone in the room was ready to turn one man’s dream into a reality. The excitement generated was monumental. The decision was made to start a club and host an engine show in just 4 months.

100 Doodlebug Challenge

10 years ago a friend of club founder, Larry Matthew challenged him to get 100 Doodlebugs registered at the July Flywheelers Show. We fell about 25 Doodlebug short of meeting the challenge. There was a huge variety of Doodlebugs, or depression tractors on the grounds! The interest surrounding the story of depression tractors, fondly referred to as Doodlebugs has increased in recent years. Today most antique tractor collectors have at least one Doodlebug in their collection.

Now 10 years later, the Flywheelers have been issued the 100 Doodlebug Challenge for a second Pme. With the increased interest in Doodlebug Tractors, I am sure this Pme the Flywheelers will rise to the challenge!
